And another postscriptum (will this ever end?) to that - just using this 
single patchfile instead of running am_edit will only work if you set the 
KDE_IS_PRELINKED environment variable to 1 before running startkde. I always 
have that variable set, so I didn't notice that things will still break 
without it.
