Ah, so it's about PREFIX-cleanness after all. I'm sorry, I have the 
"dependencies are in *BASE, port goes into PREFIX" so internalized, I didn't 
make the connection. :P

Funny nobody noticed this before, the port is pretty old... so old in fact, I 
didn't even know we maintain it. Should be fixed now.
