That's strange - it's expected that portupgrade shows this message, but it should not quit at that point and instead just continue updating everything else. It certainly did for me ... However, I guess it can't hurt modifiying the UPDATING instructions a little and add kdeaddons-vimpart to the packages to pkg_deinstall in step 1.
