Hey y'all,
Are there any plans to get qt4 into ports in the near future.
Yes. I actually tried to squeeze it in before the current ports-freeze,
but just didn't make it due to non FreeBSD-related stress. However ...
Coolness!
I've
become compile-by-hand-phobic and though I know it will compile fine out
of box, I'd rather just do it with ports!
... if you want to do any actual development with qt4 and use KDE 3, you
will have to compile-by-hand and install qt4 into its own custom prefix
(the default the qt4 tarball chooses will do fine), because some of the
qt4 ports *will* conflict with qt3 and thus KDE 3, in particular the qt4
tools such as moc, uic and qmake (this will also mean that when qt4
arrives in ports, KDE 3 users will only be able to install the qt4
libraries and install qt4-applications from binary packages only).
Erm... Why not just postfix a 4 on them, like qmake4, moc4, etc. Much
like is done for GNU tools (g)tar, (g)make? Or similarly for sqlite.
sqlite3 being the SQLite 3 binary...
Cheers,
