The important part is putting startkde into a file '.xinitrc' in your homedir - that will launch KDE automatically when run startx. > You might also like to try using kdm for graphical logins - it's described > on that page of the handbook. ***** DON'T ****** follow the instructions for kdm in the handbook. I've been trying to get those removed from it many many times, but the request never made it through to a doc committer.
