Mich, I'm not sure if this is the cause, but I do know that cups-lpr was rolled into cups-base with the release of 1.2. Perhaps the new port is installing the cups-lpr binaries over the system ones automatically? Or perhaps your path finds the cups lpr commands (in /usr/local/bin) before the system ones in sbin?
