OCSP Recruitment Announcement


 


The consulting company DAI is managing the USAID-sponsored Orangutan 
Conservation Services Program (OCSP) and has several positions open for a new 
initiative it is undertaking called “Private Sector Sustainability in Forest 
Management and Biodiversity Conservation (PSSF).”  The focus of this work is to 
engage private sector actors in the conservation of orangutan and their 
habitat.  OCSP is currently recruiting qualified individuals to fill the 
following PSSF positions and consultancies: 


 


1. Industry/Business Advisor. An Indonesian or international professional is 
sought who possess expert knowledge of one of the following industries: timber, 
mining, paper and pulp, oil palm, or who has worked closely with financial 
institutions. The candidate should possess an MBA or similar degree, strong 
presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, and demonstrate project 
management experience. He/she must be fluent in English and Indonesian 
languages. The advisor will be primarily responsible for leading PSSF 
activities, developing business relations, ensuring the quality of all PSSF 
work products, including development of orangutan sensitive management 
guidelines for industry, and supervise the PSSF team. The Business Advisor must 
work full time. Environmental and and/or CSR track record are a plus. 


 


2. Finance Advisor. The finance advisor will take primary lead and 
responsibility for PSSF activities to stimulate the adoption of stronger 
requirements and practices of financial institutions in relation to investments 
to concession holders with operations in orangutan habitat. The incumbent must 
have an economics, MBA or other relevant degree and 10 years of experience 
working in or with financial institutions. He/she must speak excellent English 
and Indonesian.. 


 


3. OCSP Liaison. The liaison will link concession firms to land use planning 
and conservation management stakeholder processes ongoing for orangutan 
conservation. The liaison will work with OCSP staff, the PSSF Business Advisor, 
Finance Advisor and Sector Consultants. 


 


4.  Sector Consultants will manage relations with concession holders and help 
develop orangutan habitat management guidelines in various types of 
concessions. The following sector consultants are required:


            • Timber industry 


            • Palm oil industry 


            • Mining industry


            • Pulp and paper industry 


            • Geographical Information Systems consultant
