The International Federation is looking for candidate to be based in

Mandrehe, Nias for the post of WatSan Project Manager.



Key Tasks and Responsibilities:



Software :

    1. Provide support in the delivery of PHAST / TOT training.

    2. Work with Senior WatSan Project Officer - SPO - (Software) in

monitoring of class training and field application.

    3. Ensure that the training schedules for facilitators and community

hygiene promoters are respected.

    4. Ensure that all the trained facilitators take part in the training of

community hygiene promoters by planning a schedule for training.

    5. Maintain a data base or register of all the resource personnel

(trainers), trained facilitators and community hygiene promotion volunteers.

    6. Work together with he SPO Software Organization training logistics.

    7. Lead the WatSan Project Team in the Preparation of Proposals, Budgets

and Reports.



Hardware :

    1. Prepare technical engineering design and drawing of WatSan facilities

according to national building codes

    2. Prepare requisitions to procure construction equipment, materials,

and tools.

    3. Lead in the assessment of all villages developing drilled wells for

potable water supply.

    4. Coordinate and cooperate with Norwegian RC and Government Departments

for the well drilling.

    5. Develop supply and distribution Plans for all construction and

plumbing materials.

    6. Provide leadership to the Team in Developing Checklist for quality

Monitoring of construction and plumbing materials and the physical

construction of infrastructure in the field.

    7. Monitor and supervise the construction activities.



General :

     1. Prepare plan of action, detailed activities with tasks and

sub-tasks, implementation plan with feasible time-line with detailed Budgets

according to the Federation format.

     2. Conduct Cash Forecasts amenable to cash flow as per IFRC procedures.

     3. Participate in the field assessment of water/sanitation condition in

communities.

     4. Work with Procurement and Finance sections of the IFRC for timely

cash receipts and purchase and disbursement of construction and plumbing

materials.

     5. Support the WatSan activities being conducted by the Communities.

     6. Facilitate the communication between the community and IFRC.

     7. Ensure the logistics, equipment at the disposal of communities is

well utilized for the purpose.

     8. Work as a team (whilst leading) with the other staff in the project.

     9. Compile; write and submit monthly narrative and financial reports to

teh WatSan Delegate.



Qualifications:



Education:



*         Superior Degree in Engineering or sciences, Civil Engineering is

advantageous

          Training and education in water and sanitation will be an added

advantage



Experience:



*         Experience of working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent is preferred

*         Familiar with the participatory methodologies - knowledge and

skill in PHAST training and implementation is an added advantage

.         Engineering practice related water and sanitation projects

.         Management skills



Skills/knowledge:



*         Self-supporting in computers (Windows, spreadsheets,

word-processing)

*         Fluent spoken and written English, Bahasa Indonesia

.         Excellent interpersonal skills



Other Requirements :



*         Over 50% travel within the WatSan Project Village Field and

Operational Areas
