The position will be based in the WMP’s main office in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Key qualifications for the position are: * Advanced degree in Conservation Biology, or natural resource/environmen t-related field with a strong experience in terrestrial and marine ecosystems. * At least 10 years conservation field experience, preferably with at least 5 years in the Pacific. * At least 5 years experience of working with large bilateral and multilateral donor funded projects, including strong experience of designing and writing project proposals and securing funding for large programmes * Experience in working closely with government and private sector partners on policy and advocacy issues * Experience in developing partnerships with local NGOs and communities including a strong capacity building component * Excellent leadership, interpersonal, networking and lobbying skills * Good planning and organizational skills, including strategic planning and project management * Fluency in written and spoken English.
