Subject: [GACF2008] Re: [GACF Asia 2008]

  Dear
participants of GACF Asia meeting 2008,
  Many
thanks for your effort to develop regular relationship between participants
of GACF Asia meeting 2008. I hope that all of you have already received the
printed report of that event. If you have not received it, I can send
electronic version of that report. Please inform me.
  Actually,
GACF has its own institutional setup and the regional level focal persons are
responsible or authorized for regular communication with its members. I have
coordinated only for GACF Asia meeting 2008. Therefore, I have no authority
to communicate regularly with its members without any relevancy. However, as
a policy supporter of community forestry in Nepal from last 16 years, I can
share my experience and knowledge on policy issues of CF with the interested
  members of GACF.
  Another
important thing is that I always give priority for the empowerment of local
communities to protect their rights over the forest and other natural
resource; therefore,  generally I do not give priority for participation
in international events. Without community level experience, only
participation in international events may be worthless.
  From
last year, I am working in the policy issue of REDD in Nepal and now I am
supporting to develop payment mechanism of REDD in national and community
level. If any institutions are interested to give opportunity to share my
experience on this issue I can share it. I will also try to share Nepalese
  experience regularly in the future.
  Thank
  you.
  With
  regards,
  Dil
  Raj Khanal
