That's not a problem, the thirdparty code anyway has to be fixed if it
doesn't build.
Being in the main kernel or in a thirdparty package only shifts the
problem, and allow contributors to help.

No, we already have a bot that builds binary dkms packages when a new
dkms package or kernel package is uploaded.

We can provide "rt61-<kernel flavour>-latest" meta-packages that
require the latest release of the binary dkms package for the matching
kernel flavour.
That would allow auto-upgrade of binary packages.
