I've tested this problem on the v4.14 kernel.
To be specific:

The problem is still there. I'm not sure if it could be pulseaudio, ALSA
fault or something specific to Linux Mint 18.2.

No headphones sound after a boot up

Bug description:
If there's a headphones plugged into the laptop and I boot up Linux
Mint 18.2 there's no sound coming from the headphones nor the laptop
speakers while the sound volume is set (not muted). If I change sound
volume nothing happens. If I unplug headphones speakers starts playing
and if I plug headphones back they play normally.
P.S. When booting up I hear cracking noises from my headphones.
