You have been subscribed to a public bug: I'm unable to get the name of the touchpad on system. And, I'm unable to copy text as well to support investigation on this bug-report. The following bug-report was the closest to my issue. However, I tried to use the patched kernel (mainline 4.17.0-1-generic) but it didn't fix my problem. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1728244
I tried updating the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT wit i8042.reset and i8042.nomux, but it didn't work as well. I'm using Ubuntu 18.08 LTS on a tablet PC that came preloaded with windows 10. The device is called Cherry ZE55L, it's very close to Chuwi products. --- ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.1 Architecture: amd64 CrashDB: ubuntu CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-05-30 (2 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader (not installed) ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.17.0-1.2~lp1728244-generic 4.17.0-rc6 Tags: bionic dist-upgrade Uname: Linux 4.17.0-1-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-collected bionic dist-upgrade -- touchpad doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1774793 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
