CONFIG_AUFS_FS was removed in commit 6940426c "UBUNTU: [Config] updateconfigs after rebase to 5.5-rc1" in the OEM 5.6 Focal tree.
Next is to figure out why it's removed there. We still have aufs code in the tree (but not in Linus's tree upstream, so maybe it's intended.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-oem-5.6 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1879308 Title: ubuntu_aufs_smoke_test failed on Focal OEM 5.6 Status in ubuntu-kernel-tests: New Status in linux-oem-5.6 package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Issue found on OEM 5.6 (5.6.0-1010.10-oem) Test failed with: mount: /tmp/aufs/aufs-root: unknown filesystem type 'aufs'.
