Hi, could you film the boot process, especially for that error message shown in the top left corner and attach it here? Is it possible to access grub menu as I see you attached dmesg for -111 kernel, so I suppose you still retain the ability to select boot kernel. Then could you try following boot parameters and see if we have some more outputs?
initcall_debug debug log_buf_len=32M For detailed steps, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBootParameters#Temporarily_Add_a_Kernel_Boot_Parameter_for_Testing . And when you rebooted into -111 kernel again, is it possible to run `journalctl -b -1 > journal.log`? Please have a check if it contains string "4.15.0-112". If so, could you also attach it here? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1888461 Title: After upgrade, Linux will not boot Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have been running 18.04 upgraded on my laptop and today after a restart-to-upgrade... starting up with Ubuntu 4.15.0-112, the latest update, it blinks, shows Superblock last write time is in the future... messages in the top left of the screen, then blanks black screen and shows the error again. This is super confusing as I checked the time in BIOS, "date" on terminal and they were correct. Adjtime hasn't been changed since 2018 and contains: $ cat /etc/adjtime 0.0 0 0.0 0 LOCAL When I go to advanced options I chose the last kernel and now it boots ok.
