No, you don't, they are generally pulled in with installers to ensure HW works, but they're soft deps and depending on you HW most can be removed. The fact they are pulled in as part of an upgrade is interesting, they were split out into sub-packages a long time ago and I don't believe should have been pulled in on upgrade although the "upgrade of Fedora 43" is quite generic, were you upgrading to F-43 from an older release, or just F-43 stable updates?
