Since the GAL is pretty much feature complete (I have used it exclusively for the last year and a half) and the Cairo canvas has much improved performance (it is *significantly* faster than legacy on my systems), should pcbnew make the switch to have Cairo as the default canvas?
I understand OpenGL may still be undesirable because some defective or misconfigured systems may have crashing issues with kicad preventing the user to switch away from OpenGL, but that may even not be the case anymore.
