I repeat: this state doesn't come with the patch. It exists already. Without the patch you will have a pad like this: (pad 1 smd circle (at -0.38 -2.54) (size 1.524 1.524) (layers)) With the patch the pad would be deleted. But in both cases the footprint becomes non-selectable if there are no other pads or other items which make it selectable. The faulty pad above doesn't make it selectable.
