Hi all -

I've been using kmymoney for I don't know how long - at least 5 years. I would just like to record a thanks for such a useful, effective and stable application. Previously I used Quicken and then MS Money and while they were OK, kmymoney does all they could do and more.

I have only just discovered the forums etc, which I suppose is a backhanded compliment in that I've been successfully using it all this time without any need for help!

There are three issues I'd like to draw to your attention:

1) It would be useful to allow a scheduled transaction to happen on the LAST day of the month - and another option for the LAST xxxday where xxx is Mon, Tues, Wednes, etc (you get the picture). My pay comes in on the last non-weekend non-Bank-Holiday of the month and the scheduler slowly creeps it earlier due to months having different numbers of days, so March pay schedules on March 28 'cos the February entry set the day up as 28. This is not at all a major problem but it irritates.

2) Sometimes the payee recorded for a scheduled transaction is different from that named in the scheduler - eg,I have credit card payoffs scheduled for <Company1>, <Company2> and <Company3>; these often all appear as <Company1>. The error only happens for transfers when the initial character (the "<" in this example) are the same, and the transfer uses the correct accounts. This is a minor problem.

3) In these days of no loyalty and lots of changing between banks, there is a need to make mass shifts of old data held for closed accounts. I have set up "Old Current Account" and "Old Credit Card Account" to hold these because otherwise I end up with a large number of accounts most of which are now defunct. What I would like to do is to have just one "Old" account for everything, but I can't do mass changes between certain types of account, so I have to have one "Old" for current accounts and a different one for credit card accounts and a third for some other account which is neither (I'm not sure why kmymoney wants to keep it separate). It seems that single transactions can be shifted from any account to any other but groups of transactions can't be. Is it possible to have just one "Old" account, or is there some fundamental difference between accounts of different types (here, credit card and current) that prevents this?

Sorry the text volume suggests little satisfaction and lots of problems - it's a by-product of having to describe problems in detail while praise is general.

Thanks for the app
