Locations for positions: Chattanooga, Tennessee and Knoxville,Tennessee Duration: These positions could be from three months up to 1+ years Pay rate: must be all-inclusive, best/lowest rates will get first consideration Data Warehouse Developer Data Warehouse Developer . Analyzes business or scientific system specifications . Interface with users/customers to determine scope, business objectives and system requirements . Develops technical specifications and the technical system design o Establish and design technical framework for system o Design System components including user interfaces o Able to integrate ideas and concepts into architectural designs for complex systems o Define operational requirements including scheduling, capacity planning, and resource requirements o Define test environment including development of test cases . Builds and tests the application software and integrations and implements it for use o Design data conversion requirements o Generation of executable code based on accepted industry and TVA programming o Unit testing of executable code o Integration testing of executable code o Develop operational procedures o Follows change control procedures and quality assurance standards o Implement robust error handling and data quality processes . Responsible for System testing o Verification that the system meets all business requirements o Verify all components of the system and interfacing systems work together as designed o Verify system will handle volume expected when placed in production o Conduct data validation sessions with the customers to verify system results o Perform system testing and document all results o Receive approval from user that system is ready for production . Strong analysis and problem solving skills . Requires the use of advanced Informatica product knowledge on a regular basis . Recommend solutions after evaluating alternatives, providing cost benefits for each alternative . Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required . Plans and executes work with minimal supervision . Development of schedules to ensure on-time delivery of solution . May lead development efforts for small to medium sized systems . Document the proposed solution which includes a definition of the user interfaces, functional processes, and data within the proposed system . May be asked to provide on-call and after hours support for production applications as needed . Work weeks will consist of 40-45 hour weeks and may require additional hours as necessary to meet project deliverables and deadlines . Travel may be required to carry out project work . 5+ years working as a developer . 3+ years experience developing integrations and complex logic in Informatica PowerCenter . 3+ years experience working with Oracle databases . 3+ years experience writing ETL to load and integrate with Enterprise Data Warehouses . 2+ years experience writing ETL to load and integrate with star schemas . Experience working with relational database structures . Experience working in Business Intelligence . Proficient in reading, writing, and tuning SQL . Experience with views, materialized views, and aggregations . Experience developing in PL/SQL . Experience developing Oracle procedures and functions . Experience scripting on Unix is preferred . Experience also programming in other languages is preferred More senior level resources would include the following skills/experience: . Demonstrated project management skills . May oversee the technical design of the system . May oversee the building and testing of the proposed system . Serves as a technical expert of advanced Informatica product knowledge . Performs as staff advisor and consultant on Informatica and Data Warehousing tools .
