Requirements: a.. Knowledge of Risk Management, Quality Management and Incident Reporting practices in an integrated healthcare environment b.. Experience with assessment, implementation and operational use of Incident Reporting systems c.. Project management experience with technical and business application and system analysis d.. Ability to analyze data capture, imports and reporting requirements for state, federal and agency regulatory reporting purposes as well as UCOP decision support requirements e.. Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to adhere to deadlines and track project progress, fully functional with Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio Responsibilities: a.. Document the current and future Risk Management, Quality Management and Incident Reporting requirements of the UC Medical Centers and UCOP through interviews, observation, data collection, and system review b.. Assess requirements of non-incident/event reporting activities including Patient Relations, Employee Exposure, Violence in the Workplace and Peer Review data capture and reporting c.. Assess current and future regulations impacting Incident and Event reporting, document standard data fields used by the UC Medical Centers for risk and quality reporting d.. Analyze benchmark and comparison data sets to determine future data inclusion and reporting including University Health Consortium (UHC), new clinical software and devices, and Core Measures e.. Determine state and federal reporting requirements for a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) including the ability to interface data to electronic systems such as Medmarx f.. Evaluate options for developing, purchasing or leasing an Incident Reporting system including in-house versus hosted (ASP) models g.. Identify commercially available system vendors and assess available functionality and technologies h.. Perform a gap analysis of commercially available products versus the UCDHS application i.. If deemed necessary, develop an Incident Reporting System Request for Proposal using UC standard templates, manage through Purchasing processes, create RFP timeline and assess responses j.. Perform a cost assessment and develop a charging model for capital and operating expenses associated with the system implementation and on-going support including, but not limited to hardware, software, licensing, maintenance, staffing, training and data conversion k.. Create a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to document product support requirements, responsibilities and response times l.. Document meeting minutes, weekly project status, issues and key decisions.
