*Title*: Systems Engineer - Senior Needed *Primary Skills*: Extensive PeopleSoft Administration, Solaris, Linux and NT, Tuxedo 6.5/Jolt
*Location*: NJ *Duration*: 06 months *Contract Type*: C2C *Rate*: Open *Work Summary*: Senior position will be responsible for providing support for the various environments related to the deployment and support processes for Peoplesoft. This individual will work as part of the engineering team with a variety of Development teams, the Software Test group and 3rd party vendor Infrastructure teams. Their primary objective is to ensure that what is developed is what is delivered. The team’s main activities will be: • Provide systems solutions to development issues • Work with development teams in all lower environments to ensure successful production deployments • Liaison on Infrastructure Issues • Environment Management • Integration of applications related to Peoplesoft • Installation packaging of applications using Change Assistant • Migration Management (the coordination of the movement of application releases through different environments) • Adherence to all Deployment processes established for Peoplesoft • Creation of deployment documentation • Adherence to the change management process Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be responsible for: Work with development teams and provide assistance regarding the following: • Make design recommendations regarding system level components • Assist with integration of applications and report back/resolve any issues with development • Use of installation packaging technologies • Knowledge of target environments and architectures • Deployment of PeopleSoft releases to target environments • Operations and production supportability • Monitor the overall system • Work with 3rd party vendor to coordinate maintenance schedules • Work with 3rd party vendor for infrastructure upgrades and patches • Work with Performance Engineer to assist on tuning of applications • Work with other groups within SR&T (EAO, IPO, Release Management, Software Test and Change Management) in their daily activities. • Work in a team environment • Ensure security standards are being followed *Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * • The ideal candidate must have technical knowledge within the deployment, engineering and support roles. • This candidate should have 5 years of experience with the software development life cycle, preferably in the Integration or Systems/Software Engineering capacity. • Experience in working with developers and testers • Attention to detail • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to work with many different types of people • Ability to work as a member of a team • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities must include*: • Extensive PeopleSoft Administration (Multi-tier architecture) – a MUST have PeopleTools • PeopleSoft Integration; 3rd party tools (Crystal, etc) • Experience with Time and Labor, General Ledger, Projects, and Contracts modules a plus • Good Solaris, Linux and NT skills • Tuxedo 6.5/Jolt • Web Technologies (including Apache, Websphere, IBM HTTP server) • J2EE an optional plus • Understanding of Networks and Infrastructure, troubleshooting skills • Installation packaging software • Oracle and SQL an optional plus *Education*: The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, with coursework in the information processing or business-related curricula, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "KNOW.IT" group.
