QA Analyst
The primary role of this contractor is to provide Functional Automation
testing internal and external systems/applications utilizing the Mercury
Quick Test Pro tool. The scope of these responsibilities includes designing,
developing and executing customized Quick Test Pro automation tests at all
levels of the enterprise, reporting potential issues, and creating
statistical models to monitor deviations.
- Develops a thorough understanding of the operations and functions of the
family of brand and shared service applications
- Develops relationships with the Software Engineering, Project Managers,
Business Analysts, and Infrastructure team
- Develops a testing plan/schedule and maintain test matrix based on
development completions and project timelines.
- Communicates with Project Managers, Systems Architects, Systems Analyst,
DBA's and Software Engineers to gather requirements for testing and develop
estimates for testing execution
- Writes effective test scripts within the framework of approved testing
tools (Mercury Interactive - QTP, Loadrunner) using documented requirements
and technical specifications provided by the project team
- Constructs Test case and Test scripts, sets up and configures servers, the
definition of automation metrics, execution of detailed runs and
collection/analysis of results
- Constructs test plans to address the testing needs of automation testing
- Constructs, implements and reports status for all automation testing
scenarios used for testing
- Executes test scripts; through automated or manual methods and reports
findings according to the defined process
- Maintains the quality and overall integrity of the test data
- Develops, executes and analyzes the automation tests
- Monitors, control and report on quality measures and completeness for
project deliverables
- Ensures that test objectives are met in a time and cost-effective manner.
- Conducts root cause analysis of all defects reported during project or
product testing
- Analyzes test results and provides explanations of results to help in the
tuning process
- Maintain historical test results and manage the release process
- Creates defects when issues are uncovered
- External contact is required in development and execution of test plans
and cases involving outside vendors and 3rd party consultants
