This is a follow-on bug for the Point of Sale to Vue migration tracked under
bug 42959, filed once bugs 42966, 42967, 42969 and 42970 have merged.
The migration bugs above intentionally aim for functional parity with the
legacy pos/pay.pl, pos/register.pl, pos/registers.pl and pos/printreceipt.pl
pages rather than a full UX redesign, though small improvements were welcomed
where they fell naturally out of the Vue rework.
This bug is a placeholder to collect further UX proposals that become easier to
justify or implement once the POS interface is Vue-based, for example:
combining item selection and payment into a single step, live search/filter for
sellable items, inline register switching without a page reload, or a better
receipt preview. It should accumulate specific, separately-assessable proposals
as the migration progresses rather than being treated as a single large
redesign task.
Test plan:
N/A - this bug tracks a set of proposals; each proposal should carry its own
test plan once scoped and implemented.
