I didn't get it fully working with the new daemon mode rebuild_zebra.pl, however I don't think that in itself should fail the patch. The scaffolding to add support for it is all there, but koha-indexer may need some re-factoring to support the different switches that rebuild_zebra contains compared to Tamils indexer.
