Not a bad thing at all... Both of these type requests come mainly from
the large base of people finding out about Linux and asking comfort
zone (read: defend their MicroCracked addiction)  questions about eye
candy, the main use of a PC for many. It reminds me of when PC's
started to show up in offices 20+ years ago and the main question was
how to make it act like a typewriter.

That being said it would be nice to easily change the size or contrast
or animation (read: blinking) of the basic cursor for visibility
reasons,  my eyesight not being what it used to be...

Now for me an animated penguin is simply thinking about just plain fun...
