So you are talking about a 160 byte difference? I am hping that sprocket
was the source system, because this is easily explained by the size of
the new and tmp directories. When a directory holds a lot, it will exand
but it will not shrink when it nolonger needs all that space.

Do an ls -ld of the new cur and tmp directories and see if that is where
your size difference comes in at.

Yes, the direction is sprocket -> doc.
It's always a 160byte difference, even when recopied with new mail added on sprocket(the source).

The differences seem to be fairly large:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Maildir$ ls -ld new
drwx--S--- 2 ajb ajb 4096 Jun 6 14:41 new
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Maildir$ ls -ld cur
drwx--S--- 2 ajb ajb 28672 Jun 6 14:56 cur
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Maildir$ ls -ld tmp
drwx--S--- 2 ajb ajb 4096 Jun 6 14:41 tmp
=
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Maildir$ ls -ld new
drwx--S--- 2 ajb ajb 4096 Jun 6 14:41 new
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Maildir$ ls -ld cur
drwx--S--- 2 ajb ajb 12288 Jun 6 14:56 cur
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Maildir$ ls -ld tmp
drwx--S--- 2 ajb ajb 4096 Jun 6 14:41 tmp

There are a lot of .whatever directories for all the other imap folders.
So, I suppose, if they all shrunk accordingly, that would account for the size differences between sprocket(source) and doc (destination), but then wouldn't the difference be much greater?
For instance:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Maildir/.INBOX.Trash$ ls -ld cur/
drwx--S--- 2 ajb ajb 16384 Jun 6 12:52 cur/
=
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Maildir/.INBOX.Trash$ ls -ld cur/
drwx--S--- 2 ajb ajb 4096 Jun 6 12:52 cur/

That's a pretty big difference especially combined with the difference in the Inbox above.
