Debian. (Full Disclosure: I am biased)

This is why Debian offers you three versions:
Stable, Testing, and Unstable.

Mind you, Stable is the only one with Security coverage. Unstable has
all of the latest packages (think of it as an alpha release) and Testing
has most of hte major bugs removed (think beta release). Unstable ony
gets security updates as the maintainer updates it. These updates then
trickle into Testing.

Do not use unstable or testing as a firewall, or outside a firewall.
