What distro of Linux are you running? If I remember correctly, it was some version of Fedora or Redhat. Which kernel do you have installed? I have the same sound chipset on my laptop (Gateway 450ROP) and have Fedora Core 3 installed with the 2.6.11-1.14_FC3. The module list is similar but not exact, specifically the snd_intel8x0m module you have listed I have snd_intel8x0 with a size about twice as large. Which applications are you using to try and produce sound? Which desktop are you using, GNOME, KDE or other? If in GNOME, have you done the RedHat->System Settings->Soundcard Detection already?
