I installed Thunderbird a week ago, and I've been trying to use it.
As with most new software, it's annoying me. Rhetorically, why isn't
there an import from Evolution option? I'm still trying to figure out
how to do that manually. The various HOWTOs out there assume things
that aren't true for me.

Non-rhetorically, how do I get Thunderbird to use ALL TEXT. I figured
out how to make it compose in plain text by default, and I figured out
how to get it to plain-text-ize HTML messages I receive (I think).
But when I reply to someone, it uses this blue bar on the quoted text
instead of ">". When I try to snip it to only what I'm replying to, I
get caught in the formatting jail, and it blue bars *my* text. To
compound matters, I've been getting emails for the past couple of
weeks, from multiple people, in which they compose a completely new
message to me but somehow have it quoted as if they're replying. I
can't for the life of me figure how that would happen. Wouldn't you
have to go out of your way to get your.... Oh, something just
occurred to me. All the people are using Yahoo!. Well, that's a
troubleshooting start.

Anyway, 'export MADNESS=no' ?

While I'm ranting, it really annoys me that KDE suddenly fubar'd the
Alt-Tab feature in 3.5.
