Write them down and store them in a safe place. By virtue of not being
connected to the net the top desk drawer in your den is a far safer
place for passwords than your hard drive.

That sounds pretty reasonable also.

Make sure your cow-orkers & wife know where the password lists are and
keep the lists up to date. You must also trust them to access the
accounts only in real emergency of course.
