Further examination shows this is a tclkit. These are cross-platform apps wrapped with built-in virtual file system, data base, and code, all in one magic binary that executes against a platform dependent interpreter. They have a rep for being blazing fast. http://www.equi4.com/tclkit.html Are you having the performance issues on one OS in particular? If so, have you tried it on another OS to see if it's slow there, too? Now that you've got me curious, I may try this out. The systems where I work (SAP, Peoplesoft, and a gazillion different web based sign-ons) were designed by a password sadist intent on making me remember a seemingly unending stream of ever-changing log-ons and passwords. I write tham down, of course -- we all do -- but even so, I can't keep up. -- Lan Barnes SCM Analyst Linux Guy Tcl/Tk Enthusiast Biodiesel Brewer -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
