Chuckle. I lost a cell phone supply a while back. So I checked at Rebecca's Coffee House. They did not have my cellphone supply but they did have a nice supply of laptop power supplies in their lost and found. It seems folks often go off and leave them. The overall flow into lost and found is greater than out so you might not feel to guilty just picking one up.
http://www.rebeccascoffeehouse.com/ This reminds me of an experience I had while consulting in Edmunton, Alberta, Canada back in the late 80's. They use block heaters on the cars up there in the winter to make it through the 40 below zero winter weather. All the parking places have places to plug your block heater in and everyone carries an extension cord that attaches to the socket under the hood. I was pretty good about remembering to plug in but often forgot to take the extension cord out. So I would just drive off and then run over the cord going around a corner and lose the extension cord. Buying them got expensive so I figured out a way to get them free. I would go early Sunday morning to a couple of big honk tonk style bars ... there would be plenty of cords laying around. I would pick up five or six of them and be set for the week. I suppose I should have just had a stickit on my steering wheel or something but the bar pick up worked pretty well (except for having to get up early on Sunday :) so I quit worrying about losing them. Is there anywhere locally that a CB could get new/used external laptop power cords/units? rbw -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
