you get out of their way, they'll pass you.

I once was being tailgated by someone whose mind was who knows where. (I was in lane 2, with lane 1 being the fast lane. Traffic was a little thick, but not bad.) I sped up. Still tailgating. I slowed down. No change. I flashed my brakelights. No effect. I *really* slowed down. Still oblivious. I changed lanes and sped back up to my normal speed. He passed on by, still oblivious.
