I feel yer pain..

Don't know about gui tools (except there are some), but..

..you can try running

  sensors

The complication is that it may not have gotten itself configured
correctly to talk to your hardware.

The configuration (if it needs it) is helped via a utility

 sensors-detect

And it _seem_ smart enough that  accepting defaults to everything just
works. YMMV, of course.
