I needed to test a Maxtor drive that was showing some errors and
downloaded their diagnostic software from
<http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools/seatooldreg>.
It turns out that the software runs on FreeDOS <http://www.freedos.org>
which is created in the same spirit as Linux (even has some of the same
tools). I've also seen that Matrox video card utilities (BIOS reset)
also run on FreeDOS.
