I have to allow this as an exception, but even it has rules.  The first thing 
the function must do is grab them and put them into variables-  something like

my ($var1,$var2)[EMAIL PROTECTED];

I ding using @_ anywhere further down in the function.  The values of @_ have 
meaning, name the meaning.
