There are instances where the only way to update the BIOS is through a
MS Windows utility without a DOS option. Carl Lowenstein has a laptop
where the only way to update the BIOS is through MS Windows. Although
this may be way beyond WINE's ability to work since toying with the BIOS
on a motherboard probably requires a custom vxd (a type of MS Windows
device driver) which WINE cannot load.
A suggested alternative to WINE would be to try ReactOS
<http://www.reactos.org> but I wouldn't trust it yet.
