According to this article:

two Wal-Mart stores in the San Diego area are selling a $200 computer that comes with Ubuntu preinstalled. I am tempted to start calling around to find out which one it is if I thought there was any chance that someone who answered the phone might know if their store carried them. I may just have to visit a few until I find one.

The Walmart machine is based on a mini-ITX motherboard with a Via C7 processor. The Via C7 processor has some interesting features. Some specs are at <http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/processors/c7/>. The chip supports hardware SHA-1 and SHA-256 hashing, a hardware based Random Number Generator (RNG), Full AES Encryption ECB,CBC,CFB,OFB hdw modes + RSA hardware assist (Montgomery Multiplier) +CBC/CFB-MAC/ CTR (not sure what all the TLA's mean but somebody out there knows)

I have also seen that Fry's now sells a mini-ITX motherboard with an Intel Celeron processor for $70. There is a comparative review here <http://www.imedialinux.com/intel-d201gly-power-consumption-and-performance.html> that indicates this is a very nice board for the price. Given some frugal shopping it looks like you can build your own equivalent of the Walmart PC for about the same price.

Here's some more good news for low cost PC's. If you already have a bunch of parts but want a low power board, you can buy just the motherboard of the Walmart (Everex ) PC for $60. More info here: http://www.linuxelectrons.com/news/roundup/14157/upgrade-your-gos-pc-pci-express

Looks like the follow-on version will have PCI-express instead of regular PCI.
