Well, we'd know the "full implications" only if we allowed the thing
to play out.  But save that, I'm pretty sure I understand what Office
Open XML means.  Especially since you'd already plugged this story
back in October to to   [email protected],

Anyone with a couple of brain cells (and even some Windows users) can
put the two together and see Microsoft's long long track record with
"standards" and formats.  Consider me choir.
