Specs look wonderful, but its a lot more than I'm willing to pay. I can get a
gaming laptop for that kind of money. I suppose I should have had price on my
list- I'm looking for sub-1K, but I'm not looking for top of the line modern
equipment. Power would be a tie-breaker among options, not my first
consideration.

With a Sony, you'll get a top of the line name, but not likely a top of
the line product. And a HUGE bill if you ever need it fixed. BTW, I
don't think Sony makes their own laptops anyway.
