I have been using a Motorola SB5100 for a several years, supplied by
Time-Warner RoadRunner.  It is just a straight cable-in ethernet-out
box. After a couple of bouts of infant mortality and replacement, the
one I have now just keeps working.

I note that the Cox article points to the same (SB5100) data sheet and
manual for all of the Motorola non-wireless models (SB5100, SB5101,
SB5120). Looking at the Motorola web site:
<http://broadband.motorola.com/catalog/productdetail.asp?ProductID=404>
I can't tell the difference between 5101, 5102, and 5120, except that
perhaps 5120 is newer.
