Mark,

You're not going to believe this, but I bought a bike after Christmas. I
haven't been able to run due to PF pain. So, bought a low end Trek 7100
commuter bike and have been riding twice a week from Santee to Mission
Valley, 25 miles round trip. So far so good! Once I get used to the seat,
I'm planning on going up to 4 days a week...
