I'm running an older WRT-54GS with dd-wrt firmware update. Works great for the house, rock solid. You can get the older ones off ebay cheap, they have built in 802.11b/g and dual antennas. Here's info on the versions.

This has been totally solid for me. Absolutely no problems. Cost a bit
more (time and $$$) to set up initially than a Linksys, etc. but this
lets me do iptables stuff (like restrict wireless clients to accessing
the Internet only) and gives me a nice serial console for management.
Pretty cool.
