I wouldn't compare kernel build times without comparing kernel
configuration options. Minimal vs full kernel builds vary by about 30-fold
in build time.
Yesterday, I posted my build time for my kernels.
allno : 40 seconds
mine : 2 min
allyes: 20 min
That's all on the same machine, same kernel version, different options.
