Obviously. And my neighbor has his level of acceptable schooling. And my
neighbor on the other side has his. We all then get together and vote and
hopefully come up with a level that works.

True, though I'm not sure how that's relevant to a discussion on whether
homeschoolers should be certified.
Pointing to an alternative and saying "That sucks as well" does not
advance anyone's understanding.

And I have no problem with that. As much as I would prefer that you work
to improve your public school, I am certainly not going to say you
shouldn't ensure your kids get the best education they can.
However, I do think that there need to be minimum standards that
homeschoolers meet.
Whether or not certification is the best way to accomplish that is what is
at issue here, not whether or not homeschooling should exist.
