You need to get a more diverse view of reality yourself or you are in
real danger of becoming a serious bigot...
I don't think it's as large as has been assumed, but there is a faction
for whom his statement is roughly true. Simply ignoring it is not a
solution.
This may be less of an issue in areas that seem to be far more secular
like California.
