The format and content is what killed the SD computer fair. Conferences today are much more specialized to certain topics and audiences. As for this proposal it could be sucessful if the right venue was found.

Maybe we can do that, and > hand out the starter-kits then? The computer fairs were held with Computoredge Magazine. Computoredge put them on, retailers in town paid to participate and SDCS and the SIGs went along. The interest started to wain and Computoredge was no longer willing to subsidize them so they stopped. With the advent of the internet, there seems to be much less interest if attending these kinds of events. -- Neil Schneider pacneil_at_linuxgeek_dot_net http://www.paccomp.com Key fingerprint = 67F0 E493 FCC0 0A8C 769B 8209 32D7 1DB1 8460 C47D "Work to eat, eat to live, live to bike, bike to work." -- Naomi Bloom -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
