I get
rpm -q tkinter
tkinter-2.5-15.fc7
rpm -ql tkinter | grep _tkinter\.so
/usr/lib64/python2.5/lib-dynload/_tkinter.so
rpm -ql tkinter | grep Tkinter\.py
/usr/lib64/python2.5/lib-tk/Tkinter.py
and pydoc Tkinter gives a nice man page (if you have pydoc)
Hmmm, what was the problem you were having again? Maybe you didn't post
the entire traceback, and the error was other than it appeared?
Can you run the interactive shell and load Tkinter.py?
python
>>> import Tkinter
>>> dir(Tkinter)
>>> dir(Tkinter._tkinter)
>>> (^D to exit)
