I don't understand why we need blogs and discussions about blogs trying to guess why Linux developers don't like DTrace. Haven't we been down this road so many times before with Sun?.... OpenOffice Java ZFS and now DTrace Here's Sun's relationship with Linux over the years. Rinse and repeat this recipe every year or two.... 1. Sun releases some cool technology under a lame license like CDDL. 2. Linux community badgers Sun and whines and whines about the license. 3. Sun either gives in and goes GPL or holds strong and gets ignored/marginalized. cs -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
